Overview
All levels of English from elementary to advanced are catered for throughout the year. By the end of the course students will see an overall improvement in their standard of English and improved confidence in their language ability.
Teaching methodology
The curriculum for both General and Intensive English courses is based on the common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and focuses very much on student-centered learning.
The school’s teachers use methodologies such as CLT (Communicative Language Teaching), TBL (Task Based Learning) and CLL (Cooperative Language Learning) which aims to develop students' communicative skills and deepen their understanding of the English Language.
The common European Framework of Reference for Languages describes six levels of language ability, from A1 up to C1. Students are accepted at all levels, from Beginner (level A0) and Elementary (level A1) up to Advanced (level C1)
Social programme
The social programme is organised on a weekly basis all year round. It is an optional programme and is not included in the course price.
Students can pay individually for these organised activities in school or they can speak to the full time student welfare officer who will help them in organising alternative activities or tours. A selection of DVDs are also available to watch every afternoon in our school.
This enjoyable optional social activity programme offers a combination of local and city tours as wells as afternoon visits, full day excursions and weekends away to different parts of Ireland can be arranged by the Student Welfare Officer.
A wide range of sporting facilities are available locally such as horse riding, golf, swimming, sailing, hill-walking, etc.
