Course overview

The General English Plus course aims to give you confidence in communicating in an English speaking environment and enable you to deal with situations from the social and educational environment to the workplace.

General English

The course is suitable for all levels and students can progress once the teacher/student agree that they are ready to advance to the next level.  General English courses are taught in weekly modules, meaning that students can be flexible in returning to the school at a later date if they wish to continue with their studies.

The course will rapidly help you improve your English by focusing on grammatical, lexical and functional concepts in a variety of communicative contexts while utilising all four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Tailored learning

This course combines the General English course with an additional  six hours per week of study.

The extra classes allow time for students to work with their teachers on areas of language use that they find difficult as well as to practice certain skills achieved on the General English course.

The programme allows the teachers the chance to offer lessons towards the individual needs of each student.

Social programme

The school provides a fantastic social programme for students and you are actively encouraged  get involved.

The school firmly believes that the social programme is as much a part of learning English as the classroom based studies are.

 

Excursions and Activities

Liverpool is a magnificent city and it is a wonderful location to experience life in England and enjoy the many activities and excursions that are offered by the school, (many activities are complimentary, others there is a small charge. The school posts a list, in the student common room, of weekly excursions and activities for you to choose from. You can also book them online.

Activities include:

English Club - Want to practice your English outside the classroom? Join your fellow students and teachers once a week and learn in a relaxed atmosphere. English Club also runs sessions on practical issues like applying to university and how to find a job.

Discover Liverpool and orientation tour - Learn about some of Liverpool’s most famous buildings!
