Course overview
General English
The General English course helps you improve your English by focusing on grammatical, lexical and functional concepts in a variety of communicative contexts while utilising all four skills.
The course aims to give you confidence in communicating in an English speaking environment and enable you to deal with situations from the social and educational environment to the workplace.
IELTS module
On the LILA IELTS exam courses you will encounter a wide range of strategies to give you the best possible opportunity to achieve your desired grade.
You will focus on academic reading and writing, whilst also improving your speaking and listening skills. The courses are a combination of exam technique, academic style and authentic IELTS exam practice.
The IELTS course utilises both a specialist IELTS Preparation Exam course book and previous exam papers. The IELTS element of the course is particularly suited to students who intend to apply to a UK University.
Students who are at a borderline level (B1/B2) are advised to have a speaking assessment to ensure that they are suitable for the course.
Social programme
The school provides a fantastic social programme for students and you are actively encouraged to get involved.
The school firmly believes that the social programme is as much a part of learning English as the classroom based studies are.
