The GLS German Language School is located in the historic centre of Berlin, in trendy "Prenzlauer Berg". Around 1900 this district used to be home, if home is the right word, to the poor and destitute of Berlin.

After WW II, Prenzlauer Berg ended up in the communist part of Berlin. Even under the communists Berlin had a reputation that set it apart from the rest of East Germany. The GLS school is located in an area which was home in communist times to many intellectuals and artists. This tradition continues to the current day. After the fall of the wall the district boomed and became one of the trendiest parts of Berlin.
Summer school - overview
The German courses, for the Berlin College summer school start in the afternoon. Berlin sightseeing is in the morning, and at night the school takes you out in Berlin.
You might go clubbing, play mini-golf or hang out in Mauerpark. This school, in the heart of Berlin, is a great place to get to know some brilliant places, have some fun and at the same time learn some German.

Activities and Excursions
The day-to-day programme is designed so that students can take part in as many sports as possible, as well as participate in a diverse selection of workshops and recreational activities.
Students will enjoy at least one full-day excursion per week.
