Introduction
The German language programme starts in the afternoon - we do Berlin sightseeing in the morning, and at night we take you out in Berlin - we go clubbing, play mini-golf or hang out in Mauerpark.
The street the school is in is nicknamed casting ally, because there are so many films and fashion shootings there. Every day during your stay in Berlin you will have the opportunity to discover a different part of Berlin - you´ll get to see all the highlights - Museumsinsel, Badeschiff, the Berlin Wall ...
Morning - Activities
In the morning there are a great range of activities to enjoy. The programme is designed with 16 to 20 year olds in mind. It is diverse, interesting and stimulating and aims to encourage lots of interaction among the students.
Afternoon - Language learning
In the afternoon the focus is on learning German and much of the emphasis is on spoken German. There is a lot of encouragement and assistance given and the aim is for students to feel confident and comfortable and at ease with the learning process.
The course covers the four fundamentals of language learning - listening, writing, reading and speaking. Teachers actively encourage ‘free’ class discussions, role-playing and interactive conversation all of which help students in their overall learning process.
Teaching methodology
The focus is on the following:
- Communicative approach with teachers encouraging students to speak as much as possible
- Teachers continuously correct and help students and encourage them to repeat and do better
- The aim is that German is the only language spoken in class, from the first day onward
